“As technology evolves, more businesses see the need to add Information Technology (IT) assets, tools, software, and other resources to their operations,” says Rachel Ng, Director of Finance at Advance Tint Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia. “These assets can help automate, speed up, and improve various operational processes and daily job operations. In Malaysia, most of the people in this industry are not technologically savvy.”
Automation and Advancement
Advance Tint Sdn Bhd, a Member of Autobahn Malaysia’s Dealer and Distribution Network, has 25 total team members. Rachel Ng works alongside her husband, Augustine Law, Owner/Director at the company.
“We first introduced the Google Calendar for appointments, an accounting system for billing, and a computer software program for film cutting,” Rachel Ng shares. “Fortunately, there are training programs that help us transform Malaysia’s film industry with automation.”
Rachel Ng graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. She worked as a Software Engineer and a Banker before venturing into the world of window film with her husband, Augustine Law.
“My favorite part of the window film community is that we can share technical advancements all over the world,” Rachel Ng adds. “I hope to integrate more advanced technologies into the community that could benefit everyone.”
The Digital Age
Rachel Ng says she’s most proud of helping digitize Malaysia’s film industry.
“Everybody has started to use computers, software, and digital systems for daily operations,” she shares. “The industry has started to transform into a new era. No more handwritten appointments or bills. There are also cashless payment options now.”
Now an industry veteran with 10 years of experience, Rachel Ng says she wants to be remembered as someone who was passionate about making a difference.
“I want to be remembered for my selflessness and dedication to helping others, and for my commitment to making the industry a better place by providing support and resources to those in need,” Rachel Ng shares. “I want to be remembered for being a strong leader and a kind, compassionate person who inspired others to reach their full potential.”
