Autobahn, a supplier of automotive window film, paint protection film (PPF), and ceramic coatings, is proud to announce an international expansion into Australia. Premier Film Distribution (PFD), a Distributor for Autobahn Australia’s Dealer and Distribution Network, will facilitate the launch.
Distribution Down Under
“It comes down to leadership,” says Boyd Hunter, General Manager at PFD, based in Sydney, Australia. “I know the product is good, and there are other good products out there. But when I look at the vision and leadership, that’s what we want to be about. Autobahn is a luxury film brand. I’m looking for the best who want to get even better.”
The Autobahn Australia Launch Party will take place at the Bella Vista Hotel in Bella Vista, Australia, and at Miss Moneypenny’s Broadbeach restaurant in Broadbeach, Australia, in January 2024.
“Previously, the window tinting industry was divisive,” adds Hunter, a 25-year industry veteran. “But it’s changed a lot during the last five to 10 years. I believe the opportunity to be an Autobahn dealer is a great one. It will help people fast track their goals. We’re here to support them every step of the way.”
Hunter’s Legacy
“Me and my twin brother were always at the shop,” shares Hunter, whose parents owned an auto repair business, and a window tinting business. “We were always around tinters. The mechanics were always dirty. They always told us, ‘When you guys grow up and finish school, I better not see you in this shop.’”
Hunter followed their guidance, entering the film industry at 18 years old in 1998. In addition to his role at PFD, Hunter is also the Founder of Tinta Tools, and The Tint School.
“Family is everything,” says Hunter. “I live for the legacy of the industry, and my family. I do it all for them.”
The Tint School is based in Sydney, Australia, and Temecula, Calif. The training resource, which has trained more than 1,000 aspiring tinters, will open a location in Atlanta, Ga., and Dallas, Texas, in 2024.
“The fact that there are people around the world producing income from tinting windows, because I taught them? It’s cool,” Hunter shares. “Hopefully The Tint School is something that lives on longer than me. That’s all I can ask for.”
Global Expansion Efforts
Autobahn Australia’s upcoming launch represents one of several international expansion initiatives. Autobahn Brazil’s Dealer and Distribution Network launched on November 18, 2023. Malaysia is also at the forefront of global expansion efforts.
